Today trying something new and starting
Philosophical Friday. For the 6 weeks of lent, I'll be scheduling thought provoking questions or statements by the great thinkers, philosophers, scientists, prophets and who ever else pops to mind. Something to think about, perhaps write about. Fridays will be my unplugged day with no technology and continuing the Artist Way experiment of no reading for the day. The day will be spent exploring our creative side.

If there is anything that we wish to change in the child, we should first examine it and see whether it is not something that could better be changed in ourselves. ------ Carl Jung
Wonderful quote.
ReplyDeleteFor the most part, 99.9% of the time, we can't change people or circumstances. The best we can hope for is to change ourselves and find a different approach. Attitude makes all the difference.
Sometimes the things I think I need to change in my children are things that I really need to change in myself, and I see them in me, and me in them. I am at the point where I can realize this now, but a few years ago, I was not, which meant many battles in my home, a lot of which were hypocritical. Very thought provoking quote of a topic that I had recently been thinking about!
ReplyDelete@Angela - so true, attitude does make all the difference
ReplyDelete@Zibilee - It's really mind opening when your child mirrors back your behavior. Makes you think twice.
