Changes

How do you like my new look?

I had been thinking about changing things around on my blog for a while. It seemed to be getting a bit cluttered and I envied all those bloggers with their neat blogs. Prompted by Sophisticated Dorkiness's Blog Improvement project, which I didn't actually join, but have been getting some wonderful ideas from, decided to make a few changes.

So, yesterday after lunch, I proceeded to save my old html code (I thought) and downloaded some new templates to try out. I wasn't ready to commit entirely. Low and behold, in the process of trying out a couple templates, everything except my posts, went poof. All my widgets, links and pictures went bye-bye.

I scrambled to find my old template and for some reason couldn't find it. Father and James come in, in the midst of this soul wrenching aggravation, wanting attention. We must do this, we must do that. Arrrrggg!

Fortunately, I had all my links bookmarked - yeah me. So, I worked until Father pulled me away to watch Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Good movie, by the way.

Today I worked on reworking my blog, amidst actually doing home school lessons and working on Winter's Illusion. I wanted to get as much done as possible, especially since Tuesday is my no internet day. Talk about stress!

You may notice quite a few changes. I have a link bar now which tickles me to no end. It was worth all the aggravation. So, what's up in the linkbar.

The link to the Winter Reading Challenge with Mr. Linky for posting your reviews.

My 2009 Challenges all organized in one spot with links to reviews, links to the challenge hosts and books going to read.

What's on the Nightstand - Just all the books in,on, around, over, under the nightstand and bookshelves that I haven't read yet and aspire to.

Reviewing policy - Since I've gotten into book reviewing, decided it was time to come up with something. I just came across a great article about setting up a reviewing policy.(Thanks Trish) Plus I'm getting email requests from all sorts of folks about reading their books. Hopefully this will help. Oh, and Natasha ( Maw's book blog) those jillion clicks over to your blog today from Paula's article - That was me. Thank you for being an inspiration.

My 2008 booklist and last but not least, an about me post. For those inquiring minds.

Please explore and let me know what you think. I will still be doing some tweaking here and there, but by george I did it. Just in time for my bloggy anniversary which is coming up on March 21st. I've actually been at this two years now and can't believe how much I and this blog has evolved. But that's a post for another day.

Oh! my address, I have my own custom domain for little ole me, so change your links to:

  1. I like the new look! It's clear and structured, not much fuss. :-) That helps me concentrate on what you wrote (I sometimes get distracted by templates, to be honest - maybe I'm close to ADD?)!

  4. The blog looks great! I was a bit taken aback by the simplicity of it all but after browsing a bit I decided I really do like it. It is clean, simple, and appealing – way to go! :)

  5. I love your new look better, it's easier on the eyes and overall easier to read. My problem with other blogs that have too much colour, even though they have nice designs, is that the posts are really hard to read (my eyesight isn't that great anymore). So this is great and yay for you. :)

  7. Your blog looks beautiful, very professional. I like the clean lines. The only thing I miss is your sister's blog site (the one who also RVs). I should have bookmarked it. If you could just sent me the link that would be good. (margot.peckATgmailDOTcom)
