Hey folks, Its me and I'm back to review another piece of Sonic history, the 2013 Sonic the Hedgehog (fan) movie by Blue Core Studios. Released on January 9th, 2013 and starring Jaleel White and an amazing cast, this 18 minute fan film was well received by fans all over the internet and has scored over three million views on YouTube not to mention it has basically become a favorite in the fan community up there with Archie Sonic and many Sonic games.

So, whats the plot of the fan film?

The year is 4013, which is a thousand and nine hundred and ninety three years from now (as of this year), and Mobius aka Earth has known peace for quite some time until, one day, Doctor Robotnik (formerly known as Julian Kintobor) makes his aims for world domination well known after attacking South Island and wiping out most of the inhabitants. The United Federation declares war and another party enters the game, eager to fight the mad doctor. That party entering the picture is none other than Sonic the Hedgehog himself.

After saving the life of a soldier from one of Robotnik's robots, Sonic soon becomes Robotnik's most-wanted as well as his number one nemesis. The doctor sends out more of his robots to take down Sonic but he swiftly destroys them, greatly annoying Robotnik. Sonic's heroics amaze a group of G.U.N soldiers who came under attack from the robots. With Robotnik a huge threat, Sonic embarks on a quest to defeat him. The 18 minute fan film ends with Sonic running through Green Hill Zone and having a blast while Knuckles the Echidna watches him from afar, setting up a sequel that has yet to be made, probably due to the inevitable release of Paramount's own official Sonic movie.

Overall Thoughts:
The Sonic fan film is an amazing fan made project, mixing live action with CGI, Jaleel was amazing in the role of Sonic given that he knows how to voice him. Fun fact, Yuji Naka of SEGA actually liked the fan film. Is it worth your time? Yes. Go on YouTube and see it. Be sure to also see the Mega Man fan film also done by Blue Core Studios, which I will be reviewing eventually.

Anyways, see you next time for another epic review by me.
