It's Official - Taking a christmas break.

It's officially recess time

I had planned on continuing lessons this week and only taking the week of Christmas off since James and John both got sick around Thanksgiving and we ended up taking 3 weeks off.  However, none of us can concentrate with the tree to decorate, lights to put up, Christmas shopping to complete.  Plus my midterm is this week.   And on top of that, I am just plain tired.  Tuckered out.  Too pooped to pop.   James has promised to double down and work hard to catch up with lessons after Christmas.

So - Recess Time. Time to watch "White Christmas" and decorate the tree.  Time to bake.  Time to shop and have fun picking out gifts for the family.  Time to figure out what kind of cake I'm going to make for Jesus's birthday this year because after all he is the reason for the season.  Time to put together my list of ingredients needed to shop for to prepare chocolate chip cookies because Santa likes homemade.   Time to stop and catch up with the neighbors and friends.  And a bit more time to relax and read and play and catch up with my favorite blogs and post some reviews.

I'm reminded of an old Simon and Garfunkel song.

Slow down, you move too fast.
You got to make the morning last.
Just kicking down the cobble stones.
Looking for fun and feelin' groovy.

Hello lamppost,
What cha knowing?
I've come to watch your flowers growing.
Ain't cha got no rhymes for me?
Doot-in' doo-doo,
Feelin' groovy.

Got no deeds to do,
No promises to keep.
I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep.
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me.
Life, I love you,
All is groovy.

I'm groovy! How about you?

  1. Ugh! Sickness and the holidays don't mix. Hope this holiday is better than Thanksgiving. Relax and enjoy the rest of the year. We are prepping for graduation this week. Lots of fun. ;)
