Guest Post -James M's review of Godzilla 1954

Heya folks, James M here and today, we will be talking about something classic, something incredible, something terrifying, the original 1954 Godzilla movie... "GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONK!" Nearly 65 years ago, in November of 1954, Godzilla first appeared on screen for the first time and, since that fateful day, he has become an icon in pop culture in Japan and across the globe, even though it would not be for 2 years until the 1956 Americanized version -Godzilla King of the Monsters- starring Raymond Burr as American news reporter Steve Martin hit theaters in America. So how is this movie so special? Its simple, Godzilla 1954 came out at a time when Japan was recovering from a terrible war that saw millions of lives brought to a "tragic" end and the beginning of the infamous nuclear age with the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August of 1945.
