I must be crazy as I decided to take the plunge and join in the Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise challenge by Goodread's Crazy Challenge Connections.  Hoping it also motivates to me to get my body moving. 


Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise

A new year means it’s time for a fresh start and a new workout plan. To get you started, here's a comprehensive program that adapts to your reading (and athletic) needs throughout the year.
Exercise your mind by reading and exercise your body through your new routine.

🢂 🢂 **It's necessary, of course, to arrange your work-out plan in a certain order, with the warm-up before the cool-down, for instance. Therefore, you must do each section IN ORDER, beginning with "A. Getting Motivated." You can complete the tasks within each section in any order, but you must finish a section before moving on to the next.**


A. Getting Motivated
1. Start Small - Read a short book, 150-200 pages (tell us how many pages).

2. Schedule workouts when your energy level is highest - Read a book whose title starts with "E" (disregard A, An, The).

3. Focus on activities you enjoy - Read a book from your favorite author.

4. Be comfortable - Read a book in your comfort zone/favorite genre (tell us the genre).

5. Reward yourself - Read a book you've been waiting for, either from a waiting list at the library or something that's newly released, etc. (tell us where you got the book).

6. Make exercise a social activity - Read a book in which a group of people work together to solve a problem (briefly tell us what, using spoiler tags if necessary).

7. Get active with the family - Read a book in which family plays an important part (tell us how).

8. Get creative with exercise ideas - Read a book from any Listopia list that contains the word Health(y), Exercise, OR Fitness (tell us the name of the list).


B. Warm Up
9. Do whatever activity you plan on doing at a slower pace - Read a Series #1 from a new-to-you author (tell us the series). NOTE: If you do not read series books, then read any book from a new-to-you author.
10. Use your entire body - Read a book whose cover shows an entire body (can be human or animal; show us the cover).
11. Soft tissue work on a foam roller - Read a book with the word SOFT in the title (can also be softly or softer, but not software).
12. Leg swings - Read a book with an outdoor scene on the cover (show us the cover).
13. Leg Crossovers - Read a book with a plural word in the title.
14. Twisting Reverse Lunge - Read a book containing a surprise twist in the plot.

C. Endurance

15. Walking briskly - Read a book with a fast-paced plot that kept you reading.
16. Sit-ups - Read a book that started slowly, but that you liked by the time you got to the end.

17. Running/jogging - Read a book where a character runs/jogs for exercise (tell us who).
18. Dancing - Read a book with the word DANCE in the text (provide the page/loc number and a brief portion of the text).
19. Aerobics - Read a book whose author's LAST name starts with A or E.
20. Climbing stairs - Read a book with alternating points of view.
21. Biking - Read a book with some sort of a music theme (tell us how it fits).
22. Swimming - Read a book with a body of water (big enough to swim in) on the cover (show us the cover).
23. Tennis - Read a book with a bright yellow cover (show us the cover).
24. Basketball - Read a book with a character on some sort of team (tell us how your book fits).
25. Soccer - Read a book that takes place outside the United States (tell us where).
26. Boxing - Read a book in which a fight occurs (it can be a professional fight or even just an argument between two people).
27. Kickboxing - Read a book whose title starts with a letter in KICK (disregard A, An, The).
28. Yard Work - Read a book with a gardener character (tell us who).

D. Flexibility
29. Forward bend - Read a book with a character who starts a new job (tell us who).
30. Standing Hamstring Stretch - Read a book with a single standing person on the cover (show us the cover).
31. Seated Hamstring Stretch - Read a book with a chair of some sort on the cover (show us the cover).
32. Standing Quad Stretch - Read a book with a "4" in the original publication YEAR (tell us the year).
33. Standing Side Stretch - Read a book with a character whose life "goes sideways" in some way (gets arrested, loses a job, etc.; tell us who and how).
34. Standing Calf Stretch - Read a book whose author's first AND last initial is found in STRETCH.
35. Shoulder Stretch - Read a book by an author whose first and last name start with the same letter.
36. Forward Hang - Read a book in which a character waffles on a decision/can't make up their mind (tell us who).
37. Back stretch - Read a book in which someone is injured (not sick or killed, but hurt in some way; tell us who).
38. Butterfly Groin Stretch - Read a book with some sort of insect on the cover (show us the cover).
39. Split Squat - Read a book in which two people split up in some way (divorce, divide a partnership, etc.; tell us what).
40. Modified Cobra - Read a book with at least one word in the title that ENDS with a vowel (cannot use A or The).
41. Piriformis Stretch (Flex Buttocks/Hip) - Read a book in which you discover a word that you didn't know the meaning of (tell us the word and the meaning you learned).
42. Triceps Stretch - Read a book with a "3" in the number of RATINGS (tell us how many ratings).
43. Standing Oblique Stretch - Read a book with a title that is NOT straight (tilted, vertical, etc.; show us the cover).
44. Knees to Chest - Read a book with a preposition in the title.
45. Glute Stretch - Read a book with a MAIN character whose FIRST name begins with "G" (tell us the character's name).
46. Yoga - Read a book with a character who is calm in the face of chaos (tell us who).
47. Pilates - Read a book with a one-word title (all words count).

E. Balance
48. Stand on one foot - Read a book with a character who has a physical disability or limitation (tell us who and what).
49. Walk heel to toe for 20 steps - Read a book with a cardinal number in the title (such as one or two, NOT first or second).
50. Walk normally in a straight line - Read a book with a character who is drunk or drinks to excess (tell us who)
51. Front Leg Lift - Read a book with a cover that caught your attention, for whatever reason (your interpretation--tell us what; show us the cover).
52. Side Leg Lift - Read a book with all words in the title having 4 letters or less.
53. Back Leg Lift - Read a book in which someone is "stabbed in the back" or betrayed.
54. Side Step - Read a book with at least two important words in the title that start with the same letter.
55. Grapevine Walk - Read a book with some sort of fruit on the cover (show us the cover).
56. Flamingo Stand - Read a book with an author who uses a middle initial (not a middle name, just the initial).
57. Knee Curl - Read a book by an author whose last name contains the letter "U."
58. Toe Stand - Read a book with a word in the title that rhymes with TOE.

60. Heel Raises - Read a book in which a character inherits or wins money (tell us who).

66. Body Weight Squats - Read a book with a character who is described as strong (tell us who).
67. Walking Lunge - Read a book set in a location that begins with a letter in LUNGE (tell us where).
68. Lateral Lunge - Read a book in which a character's FIRST name begins with a letter in LUNGE (tell us who).
69. Reverse Lunge - Read a book in a genre that begins with a letter in LUNGE (tell us the genre).
70. Kettlebell swing - Read a book set in a school, a church, a firehouse or some other venue that commonly uses bells or chimes.
71. Barbell Row - Read a book by a male author.
72. Barbell Bench Press - Read a book by an author whose name contains TWO sets of double repeated letters (like JeNNifer MiLLer or LyNN CahOOn).
73. Barbell Curl - Read a book with a word in the title that can be either a noun or a verb (like curl).
74. Triceps Extension - Read a book whose title contains a subtitle.
75. Single-leg Calf Raise - Read a book where the first letter of every title word is found in SINGLELEGCALFRAISE (three-word minimum).
76. Shoulder Press - Read a book with a MAIN character whose first name has three syllables.
77. Elevated-foot hip raise - Read a book whose author's FIRST name contains sandwiched letters (like eLe-vated).
78. Deadlift - Read a book in which a murder occurs.
79. Prone Pull - Read a book in which a character overcomes an obstacle/pulls themselves up from adversity (tell us who and, briefly, what).
80. Push-Up - Read a book with a hyphen somewhere in the title.

G. Cool Down

85. Hold each stretch 10 to 30 seconds - Read a book with a "0" at the END of the original publication year (such as 1990, 2010, 2020, etc.)
86. Do not bounce - Read a book with a negative word in the title (no, not, don't, etc.)
87. Exhale as you stretch, inhale while holding the stretch - Read a book with a character who is in some sort of fitness business (yoga instructor, personal trainer, etc.; tell us who and what).

H. Tips
88. Stay hydrated - Read a book with some sort of cup, bottle, or other water container on the cover (show us the cover).
89. Target heart rate - Read a book whose title is in red (show us the cover).
90. Replace your shoes when they no longer feel supportive - Read a book with a character who must support another (physically help someone, provide financial help, etc.; tell us who and how).
91. Use reflective clothing, tape and vests - Read a book with a six-word title (all words count).
92. Dress in layers - Read a book with UNWORN clothing on the cover (not on a person, but separate; show us the cover).

I. Mental Health Benefits from Exercise
93. Positive impact on depression, anxiety - Read a book marked SELF-HELP or INSPIRATIONAL in the main genre list.
94. Relieve stress - Read a book with double repeated consonants in the title (like -ss-).
95. Sharper memory and thinking - Read a book from the first page
of your TBR List (that you forgot was there).
